If you haven’t yet discovered the Parental Power of Prime, you are seriously missing out.
I’m not ashamed to say that over the years I’ve developed a serious
man shop-crush over Mr. Amazon Prime.
In fact, since we became Amazon Prime members back in 2007, I’ve developed a whole new compassion for Beliebers. I get it, you 12-year-old hysterical female fan. I get it.
Here are 4 reasons I’ve fallen in love with Mr. Amazon Prime.
Mr. Amazon Prime is Charming
One of the best ways to get to a girl’s heart is to give her cool things.
Mr. Amazon Prime is the perfect generous gentleman. Here’s a few of the things I get from him for free:
Free Same-Day or Two-Day Shipping
This alone is amazing, because I hate paying for shipping. It makes me grumpy and being grumpy does not get my heart going pitter-patter.
If you live relatively near these 27 Metro Areas, you can get free SAME day shipping on any order over $35 as long as you order before noon. Order after noon, an get it delivered the morning next.
Don’t live in one of those areas? You can still get free two-day shipping, which is still some serious sweet talk.
Free TV Programs
Amazon Prime members receive access to hundreds of free TV programs and original programming. (Click here to browse.)
Here are three prime-exclusive programs that have won me over:
- Dr. Thorne ~ Written by the same talent that gave us Downton Abbey. (Which, btw, Mr. Amazon Prime also gives to you for free – all six of them.)
- Creative Galaxy and Tumbleleaf. Isabella watches them over and over again, and then runs to the dining room to recreate the crafts.
You can also purchase add-on subscriptions to Starz or Showtime. Who needs cable, anyway?
Free MP3 Music
You can browse through a variety of free MP3‘s and put them into your Prime Music Library.
Here are a few of the freebies this week:
- Hello by Adele
- Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots
- Greater by MercyMe (love this!)
- Humble and Kind by Tim McGraw
- Honey, I’m Good by Andy Grammer
Free Kindle Books for any Tablet
I’m a huge reader. If it was a sport, I’d definitely be Aaron Rogers. Or LaBron James. Or Michael Phelps. My rocking chair covered with endorsement stickers.
As a Prime member, I can browse through thousands of books to borrow for free. It’s a free lending library, instantly ready to inspire me after the kids go to bed.
If you don’t have a Kindle, just download the Kindle app on any tablet or smartphone.
Mr. Amazon Prime is Adventurous
One of my favorite things about Amazon is the sheer volume of things I can choose from and explore. Being an Amazon Prime member means I can not only get those items delivered ASAP, most of the time I can return them for free if I hit a dud.
In a few circumstances, they let me keep the item I accidentally double-purchased (a book), and refunded it anyway.
Here are a few of the unique items I’ve purchased over the years. I swear, there’s nothing Mr. Amazon Prime can’t deliver.
- Bear Claw Back Scratchers ~ Heaven. On. Earth.
- Glass Green Pear Fruit Fly Catcher ~ Fruit flies are the bane of my existence.
- Thera Cane Back Massager ~ The Hubster uses this daily.
- Mice and Mystics Boardgame ~ Our kids LOVE this game.
- Xylo-Sweet ~ An all natural zero-calorie sweetner I can’t live without. I’ve got it set up on Subscribe and Save to ship automatically every two months.
You never know what you’re going to find as you browse the shelves, but you do know other people liked it AND you’re going to have it in your home in two days or less.
Gotta love a man who’s always giving you new surprises!
Mr. Amazon Prime is Exclusive
It’s nice to know that you’re special. That not just anybody is getting the treatment you’re getting, right?
Mr. Amazon Prime is excellent when it comes to exclusivity. Here are a few of my favorite Just-for-Me Prime benefits I love.
Prime Pantry is an exclusive benefit for members that allows you to order everyday essentials, snacks, beverages, shampoos, paper towels, etc. You fill a virtual box and pay a flat $5.99 shipping fee.
I haven’t used this benefit yet, but I’m guessing I’ll be clicking around the pantry come January to avoid freezing my badonkadonk off by going outside.
Prime Pantry would also be a huge benefit for new moms recovering from childbirth. Click here to learn more about Prime Pantry.
The Dash Button
Okay, this is just amazing. Rather than try to explain it, just watch this short video:
So cool, right?! It’s exactly what the Jetsons would use to keep items stocked. Love it!
Prime members receive 20% off diaper subscriptions.
Read that again.
Prime members receive 20% off diaper subscriptions.
- You’re paying 20% less than at Target.
- You are subscribing, which means you tell the system to automatically send you diapers according to a schedule. No more 2am diaper runs!
You can also use Amazon Family for special discounts on other baby and kid related products.
Mr. Amazon Prime Isn’t Pushy
Mr. Amazon Prime doesn’t boss you around. No, he is a perfect gentleman, even taking you out on the town and footing the bill!
Three Free Months of Audible
If you’re more of a listener than a reader (like the Hubster), you can get a free three-month subscription for audiobooks. Nothing speeds the laundry along like a good Agatha Christie mystery!
Once you become a Prime member, you can try Audible for three months for zero dinero. Nice!
One Free Month of FreeTime Unlimited
FreeTime Unlimited is a just-for-kids membership that gives unlimited access to over 10,000 kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, and games.
The only catch is that you’d have to have a Fire tablet, Fire TV, or Kindle device.
Free Trial for Amazon Prime
Perhaps the best freebie Mr. Amazon Prime offers is himself. You can sign up and get to know him better for one month, totally free.
It’s like a coffee date. No commitment. Just a small chat.
Why not give him your number and see where things go? *wink*
