It\u2019s hard to wrap your head around how detailed you must be with packing when traveling with a child. It\u2019s crazy, really. Just when you think you\u2019re covered from all ends, reality hits you in the middle of the road trip. You have to make multiple stops at gas stations just to find a milk bottle<\/a> or wet wipes<\/a>. If you\u2019ve recently become a parent and you travel a lot, you must thoughtfully scope out a carry-on packing list.<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019ve got a preschooler or an infant, we\u2019ve put together a list of items that must be a part of your arsenal. At least if you want to travel around without being crippled with anxiety. Let\u2019s dig in!<\/p>\n

WHEN TRAVELING WITH AN INFANT<\/h3>\n

Diapers<\/h4>\n

First things first, diapers! Make sure you\u2019ve got at least enough to last you on your trip.<\/p>\n

Travel bassinet<\/h4>\n

Carrying your little one in your lap can get overwhelming at times. The next best solution for any on-the-go parent is a travel bassinet<\/a>. Most portable bassinets can easily fold down and set up in seconds. It serves as a cocoon-like spot for your baby to relax and sleep. If you have a travel car seat<\/a> or travel stroller<\/a>, it also might be a good idea to get a cozy car seat cover<\/a> to help your baby sleep on the road.<\/p>\n

Hand sanitizer<\/h4>\n

Infants are notorious for vomiting and pooping unpredictably. Not only are you going to have to carry a hand wash and water but you\u2019ll also need a hand sanitizer. Secondly, infants are prone and super sensitive to diseases and infections. You must also sanitize your hands before holding them.<\/p>\n

Wet wipes<\/h4>\n

You\u2019re going to need wet wipes to clean them up and yourself nicely.<\/p>\n

Extra clothing<\/h4>\n

Make sure you\u2019ve got at least two to three extra clothing items for the baby. You must also keep an extra shirt or two for yourself.<\/p>\n

Milk and water bottles<\/h4>\n

It can be tough to find a germ-free, sterilized milk bottle and water bottle<\/a> on the motorway. Make sure you\u2019ve already got a milk bottle for the baby and a few water bottles in the trunk.<\/p>\n

Favorite toys<\/h4>\n

One or two safe-to-play toys will buy you a couple of minutes of rest. Never skip the toys.<\/p>\n

Baby lotion and powder<\/h4>\n

You\u2019re going to need baby powder<\/a> to save your little one\u2019s precious skin from rashes and allergies.<\/p>\n

WHEN TRAVELING WITH A TODDLER OR PRESCHOOLER<\/h3>\n

If you have a toddler, not only will you need the items we\u2019ve listed below but you may also need some of the aforementioned accessories. So make sure you pack accordingly.<\/p>\n

Band-aids<\/h4>\n

Toddlers love running around and often come back with bruised knees and elbows. Make sure you\u2019ve got an ointment and band-aids of different sizes.<\/p>\n

Coloring book<\/h4>\n

Keep them busy. Get some crayons and a coloring book<\/a>. It works every time!<\/p>\n

Snacks<\/h4>\n

Always pack a few biscuits, chips, nuts, and any other snacks<\/a> that your kid loves.<\/p>\n

PLASTIC BAGS FOR MOTION SICKNESS<\/h3>\n

Nausea is a very common occurrence and it affects even adults. Always keep some plastic bags to prevent your car from smelling like a crap bin.<\/p>\n

Story books or tablet<\/h4>\n

If you\u2019re used to reading stories to your kid, pack their favorite storybook! If your kid is more inclined towards Cocomelon, baby shark, or other digital entertainment, make sure you\u2019ve got the family tablet<\/a> or iPad tucked in.<\/p>\n

Slippers<\/h4>\n

If they\u2019re wearing shoes<\/a>, make sure you also pack an extra pair of slippers<\/a> for them.<\/p>\n

Sunscreen<\/h4>\n

Kids play, come rain or shine. Make sure you make them wear sunscreen before allowing them to step out in the sun.<\/p>\n

Blanket<\/h4>\n

Depending on the weather, you may also have to carry a blanket<\/a> with you. Even our car\u2019s air conditioning can sometimes be too cold for kids. Make sure you\u2019ve got a blanket to tuck them in.<\/p>\n
